Mars

So, yesterday my wife and daughters picked me up from work at lunch time. They’d been down south in the city at an art class run by some friends, and were on the way home. Anna saw our favorite garden center, in Andersonville, figured we wouldn’t be down that way prior to Father’s Day, and thought of a really cool gift for me. (I should note that I really screwed up Mother’s Day this year–very uncharacteristic of me, if I may do a little self-defense–and so am quite conscious of the fact that I don’t deserve any Father’s Day stuff this year.)
Thus, since they “had” to get the gift then, and since the gift wouldn’t survive for three days in a paper bag, I got a Father’s Day gift early: a Venus Fly Trap.
Is that just dang cool or what?!!
Of course, it has to have a name, right? A cool gift like that? So, Anna thought it appropriate that we call him Mars.
Mars, the Venus Fly Trap.

How about “Audrey, Jr.“?
