I would appreciate the prayers of my blog readers in a couple of areas at work.
1. I am interviewing this coming Monday, 17 September, at 10:00am for promotion to a division manager role in a newly created division of the Foundation for which I work. I would say my chances are fair. Not excellent. In terms of skill sets, experience and demonstrated success, I believe I am an good match for the role and an adequately comparable candidate among the candidating pool. However, I have only been with the organization for fifteen months, and there are departments that will be in the new division over which the manager position has oversight that I am not well-schooled on. That said, my current role and our department will be the central backbone to the division, and there are a larger percentage of issues directly related to what I do now that will form the core of that division’s daily operations.
I am utterly happy and properly challenged in my current role, so in terms of outcomes, a promotion or staying put is a win either way. But the promotion would play a direct role in the answer to other prayers we as a family have. God may answer those prayers in any way he sees fit, of course, and apart from my gaining this promotion, but, it would be nice to take on this new role just the same.
2. I am in the midst of merging another department into the one I created and manage. The merger makes perfect business sense, but it is nonetheless not being well received by the staff who are being merged. I have commitments from half the staff to accept the merge, but the rest are considering their options. Of course, I cannot address staffing needs until those decisions are in.
This merger has been extremely complex with multiple points of impact on a wide number of people within the Foundation (for example, moving a fax number/machine to our offsite location four miles away from the main headquarters). And much of the work has been delayed as I analyze processes and work flow (and make the appropriate changes necessitated by the physical relocation of the merged staff to my department).
We are now just a couple of days over two weeks out from the deadline for full implementation (1 October), so I would appreciate your prayers that as things accelerate in these twelve work days remaining that we would not hit any major snags or further delays, and that I would have the necessary attention and foresight to see and resolve trouble spots. Pray also for my staffing needs.

Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy, Lord have Mercy.
May it be blessed. Whatever “IT” is.
