The only thing more stunning than the video is the price of the lessons.
Re: lesson price:
If a person has their own swimming pool, $105 registration plus $100/wk for 6 weeks = $705 total to ensure your child’s safety from accidents is probably not exhorbitant compared to annual pool costs. At that age, regard it as Xmas + birthday presents for a couple years, and you’ll break even! ;^) It is high per hour; 5 lessons a week @$20 per 10-minute lesson = $2/minute, plus driving to and from the class. There are apparently many instructors around the country. Here in the Dallas area where there are lots and lots of backyard pools, I suspect the potential clientele is vast.
This is in the local paper today (online)
2-year-old dies in Denton pool 6:23 AM CT
06:23 AM CDT on Thursday, September 27, 2007
From WFAA-TV Staff Reports
A 2-year-old Denton [Texas] boy died after falling into a swimming pool Wednesday night.
The incident was reported at the little boy’s home in the 700 block of Headlee Street. Police said the parents first called to report the 2-year-old was missing around 7 p.m.
A dive team recovered the boy’s body from the bottom of a swimming pool filled with murky water at the family home about 40 minutes after the child had last been seen.

I saw from the Infant Swimming Resource site that some instructors have been doing this for 20 years, so apparently ISR has been around a long time.
“Murky water” suggests a pool that hasn’t been attended to, and perhaps carelessly had no protective cover, but I’m just speculating. The address is a nice area of Denton, i.e., not the housing projects or low-income area. Google Maps satellite view shows 1 house with a pool on Headlee St. in the 700 block area, but a couple more pools in the immediate neighborhood.
